Teens and Adults... Private Lessons

Whether you're returning to sailing, looking for a refresher, or just want to do it right from the start, private lessons are a great way to accelerate your progress. These one-on-one sessions are fully customised — you set the focus, and one of our experienced instructors will join you on board to guide, support, and fine-tune your skills.

Private tuition is ideal for:

• Sailors coming back after time off who need a confidence boost.
• LTS graduates looking to reinforce what they've learned. 
• Beginners who want a head start with personalised attention. 
• Boat owners wanting expert help sailing their own vessel more effectively.

As Vince Lombardi once said, “Practice doesn’t make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect” — and we couldn’t agree more.

You have a choice of boats, we can use one of our Pacers, or if you like to try a cat or Keelboat we can accommodate that, of if you just want to learn to sail your own boat we can hop on with you and teach you how to get the best out of yours! 

We will also try to accommodate your schedule - just contact us and start a conversation, let us see how we can help you achieve your goals.

Boat Options and Pricing (for a 2-hour session unless otherwise stated.)

You get your own instructor and our full attention:

• Pacer or Vagabond (OTB Monohulls) - $180.- 
• Nacra 15 (OTB Performance Catamaran with Spinnaker) - $240.-
• Your dinghy - $150.- and you bring your boat... 

Available from February 2026:

• Our Keelboat - $600.- for a 4-hour session, each additional person $200.-  
• Maximum group size = 4

Your Personal Sailing Coach — Alex Rott

One‑on‑one dinghy coaching for juniors aged 10–17 - and adults too!

Ideal for kids and to-be-sailors who are not comfortable learning in groups or nervous on the water. Learn in your own time, at your pace, with a coach who keeps things calm, safe, and confidence‑building.

Whether your brand new to sailing, want a head start before summer programs begins or just need a little refresher before going it on your own — winter is your moment.

Boat Options and Pricing for each 2-hour session - your own instructor to have your full attention:

• Pacer or Vagabond (OTB Monohulls) - $180.- 
• Nacra 15 (OTB Performance Catamaran with Spinnaker) - $240.-
• Your sailing dinghy with Alex on board with you - $150.-  

For smaller privately owned 1-up dinghies such as Optis, Sabots or Open Skiffs, Alex is available as a coach to instruct on the water using our Highfield RIB, following your junior around to provide on-water instruction as well as being a safety boat.

• Your sailing dinghy with Alex assisting from our Highfield RIB - $200.-
